In this role you will ensure robust daily, weekly and monthly reporting is provided with relevant insight into performance across both the Argos and Sainsbury’s non-food businesses. As Finance Analyst you will deliver insight into the sales and margin performance of both businesses through working closely with the Trading Finance Business Partners.As Central Trading Finance Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:Produce and Develop standardised reporting suites for Business Partnering teams to support the continuous drive of business results in conjunction with the MI team.To own and drive the delivery of period-end results to the agreed deadlines and standards - Ensuring that the results are communicated in a timely and accurate way with a clear articulation of the drivers of performance and impacts.Support the delivery of Finance improvement initiatives and implementation of internal & external best practices to enhance process efficiency and quality of outputs including:Data quality improvements.Elimination, simplification and/or automation of transactional activities (e.g. daily/weekly reporting and daily/weekly forecasting.)Reporting improvements e.g. report rationalisation, design and implementation.Creation of the monthly review packs on sales and margin performance.Consolidation of the forward looking rolling forecasts (CRM) including submission into Sainsbury’s Group.Facilitate and support the production of standardised reporting suites for Business Partnering teams to drive productive action / improved business performance in collaboration with the business.Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve the reporting and forecasting processes across a range of business areas.To own the sales and margin budgeting process, working alongside the Trading Business Partners in challenging the Trading teams to achieve an acceptable plan. The team partners key stakeholders to make informed and effective commercial decisions and maximise value creation.In this role, you will provide financial support in the strategic development of the Distribution business, ensuring that the Distribution team has both a short and long term view of pertinent issues and any material risk and opportunities to the main business. You will coordinate and work closely with the site analysts in the finance function of Distribution to provide financial reports, period ends, budgets and forecasts as required. Also, support senior management within Distribution by providing financial information to assist in their decision making.As Central Distribution Finance Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:Business partner the Central Distribution management team, help prepare their budgets/forecasts, obtain mutual commitment and agreement and subsequently review performance deviations and advise of required future corrective actions.Provide analytical support to the Distribution management team to assist them in making sound commercial business decisions.Help evaluate tactical Distribution projects, understanding how each will impact on the growth of Sainsbury’s Argos and retrospectively ensure that the stated benefits of each project are delivered to the business.Responsible for consolidating all of Distribution financials be it weekly Flash & KPI reporting, Budgets and forecasts or period end results.Oversee the Period end process ensuring they are consistent with the company’s plans, incorporating P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow.
