Day Support Worker - Temporary to Permanent - £8.33 Per Hour - 20 Hour Part Time Contract - Kidderminster Your new company This company is currently looking to recruit for an additional Day Support Worker's to join their already well established team in the Worcestershire Borough. This organisation provide a service to adults with learning disabilities, Autism and Mental Health issues. Your new role Your new role as a Day Support Worker will include working within a team of day staff to help support service users throughout the course of the day. This will start from supporting the residents in the morning get ready for their planned day, providing support within the residential home and while out in the community, all being done with promoting as much independence as possible. You will also be responsible for closely engaging with residents to ensure care plans and risk assessments tailored specifically to them are relevant and continuously developed to support their best interest at all times. What you'll need to succeed The successful Support Worker will have previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and mental health within a challenging environment but not necessarily within a residential setting, although residential experience would be ideal. You will have already completed a minimum of your NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, and although not essential as training can be provided, mandatory training will be in date. You will be responsible for contract administration for both NEC and JCT contracts and will implement your knowledge of quality control and safety throughout the management of projects. This is a long-term temporary job starting within the next 4 weeks, with the opportunity to apply for permanent positions. You will be working at HMP Risley, based in Warrington, for a facilities management and maintenance company. This company ensures that all maintenance projects throughout the prison are completed to a high standard. HMP Risley is a male category C Prison. Your new role This role is an ongoing temporary assignment with an opportunity to go to permanent after 6 months. You will be carrying out all reactive and planned Plumbing repairs, small planned project maintenance within the prison service, working 39 hours a week. The prison is looking for a qualified multi-skilled Plumber, ideal but not essential, experienced within local authorities and government bodies as there is an understand of the pace and work required. The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Full training on working within a prison is provided by the establishment/ department. What you'll need to succeed To be successful for this role, qualifications aren't essential however, are beneficial if you do hold them. If you don't hold any relevant qualifications, you will need to provide evidence of your experience through your CV or ex-employer references. You do not require any previous experience or qualifications for this role. You just need to be security conscious, able to challenge potential compromises and risk, and be reliable. To be successful for this role, you will need to pass a DBS clearance security clearance (organised by Hays) and also Prison clearance.
